The roles of the developmental voluntary organizations have been grammatically changed during post independence era with the true change of developmental approach throughout the world. The roles of developmental organizations become prominent along with different development programs of the Government. Now these organizations are working with people in a participatory way to motivate, mobilize resources, and initiate leadership and build - up effective teamwork for self - reliance. In the long period of eighties, like in the most of the other places of India, the young / youth generation of the society  was effected and got diverted towards and unhealthy culture in every spheres of public life. Sikkim, a place well known for its rich cultural and educational heritage since long, soon turned out to be place of harrow and insurgency land/rock slide prone. The employment problem has aggravated the situation in a big way. In those views, the ANDS was established to guide as well as to work as facilitator/trouble shooter for the society in the way of long run sustainability of the poor society.

After successful completion of one decade of its glorious journey, it has been able to provide good performance to another decade. For the very infancy stage, followed by  slow growth to un-parallel and unmatched scaling up, the organization has been striving hard within its limited resources, taking up on challenge after another, aiming to make rural society a better place to live in. However ANDS puts the credit of success to all stakeholders and well wishers without whose support and co – operation, the organization would not march towards progress. In-fact the grate works of Prof. Md. Yunush of our neighbouring country Bangladesh put on example before us how the social entrepreneur can bring a radical change into the society as Prof. Says “ if we imagine a world where every human being potential entrepreneur, we will build system to give every body a chance to materialized his/her own potential.” This urges us to re look into our existing vision and mission and give a twist to our strategies framework to ensure everybody participation in upliftment of the society. And then poverty can no longer around us. Considering the expectation of all stakeholders we earnestly all members and staff of the organization to be more sincere, dedicated and united, so as to address peoples expectation by ensuring journey, we are hopeful that the present spirit of extending support by members, staff, governmental and like minded NGOs/VOs and people at large will continue, which only can ensure our services to the society in days to come. During its development journey, ANDS has taken a good number of programs in promotion income generation activities in handicraft, education, sports, information technology, disaster management, agriculture, horticulture, natural resource management, environment etc. With the vision “to work for sustainable development in a holistic approach.”.

Finally, I on behalf of the organization endeavor my best to share our experiences and works a brief through this web page a brief and we welcome the interested and like-minded people, well wishers, organizations, departments to reach us for better understanding about our efforts in development sectors as well as we eagerly expect their invaluable guidance and suggestion to keep out further steps more systematically in the long run. I on behalf of ANDS offer our warm gratitude to the entire well - wishers and other organizations, govt. departments helped us directly or indirectly with their support, contribution and participation all the time all the way.
