Programs & Projects brief

By the people, for the people & of the people
ANDS started its activities with agriculture, water, natural resources, etc. Over the one decade, it’s focus has been on the development of poor and marginalized people, youth, women, adolescents and children. Its activities have diversified in the fields of women’s literacy, formal school education, non-formal education, rural employment, income generating skills, SHG formation, promotion and development of farmers club, community health and awareness programs on various social issues. The NGO is working in rural, semi urban as well as urban areas of Sikkim. It is being carrying out the activities availing participation from the community always as well as best wishes and guidance for making it more prominent facilitator on behalf of the poorest society. Thus it becomes more familiar to the peoples. We the team of the affairs is trying to make it more distinct, transparent and systematic, so that the people may participate with their hope of development and faith on it.

ANDS addresses the need of NGOs to access un-affordable but much required skills and professional talent, as well as the aspiration of a section of people who believe in social change and want to contribute their time, skills and talent for the benefit of the community, but are uncertain about the approach and methods to be adopted. We act as an interface between our partner NGO’s and the aspiring individual to come together on issues which engage them to work towards a common cause. To ensure a meaningful contribution we make sure that our staff members get the opportunity to work with new and upcoming NGOs committed to social change and to support development goals in rural and urban areas; in programs that best match their skills, area of interest, expertise, and time availability. These organizations work at the grassroots level with diverse communities on varied social issues and positively impact the lives of people. This kind of active input to the development sector can mean enrichment for both parties. Our well – structured processes ensure that one is participating in a program designed to deliver optimum results. Development of Rural Areas depend upon the quantum of production whether from Agriculture, Live Stock or any other Cottage industries. Self empowerment of the un employed youth/women through the activities carried out are the contributing factor for growth in rural economy. But to approach the above mentioned activities in scientific and commercial basis, it demands contain amount of innovative ideas over the traditional system and mechanization to cope with the present standard and demand.
